Tickford Racing wildcard entry breaks cover

Opposite Lock backing for Zak Best’s Tickford Racing wildcard entry.

17 June 2022

Tickford Racing’s Zak Best will make his solo Supercars debut with the support of Opposite Lock, which will be the naming-rights partner on his #78 Ford Mustang at the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.

Best, who races for Tickford Racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series, is entered at Darwin and Tailem Bend as a wildcard, racing a fifth Mustang in the team’s stable.

Best is in his second season with Tickford Racing, having finished the 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series season second in the championship and making his main-game debut as a co-driver at Bathurst alongside Jack Le Brocq.

“I can’t wait to hit the track in Darwin this weekend, and having the support of Opposite Lock for my first solo Supercars round is really, really exciting,” said Best.

“Obviously they’ve partnered with the team earlier in the season and I actually bumped into some of their team at Sydney, so to have it come full circle and have Opposite Lock on my car as a naming-rights partner is very cool.

“The car looks sick and I feel pretty good, so I’m looking forward to having some fun up in Darwin and hopefully bringing back some really solid results.”
