Tickford Racing has released Jake Kostecki ahead of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.

Speculation had increased around Kostecki’s future after an alleged altercation at the 2022 Supercars end-of-season gala and criticism of the team.

Kostecki finished in 22nd place in the 2022 Supercars championship standings after moving to Tickford Racing from Matt Stone Racing.

“Tickford Racing and driver Jake Kostecki have decided to part ways by mutual agreement and will not continue with their partnership in the 2023 Supercars championship season,” said a statement from Tickford Racing.

“Tickford wishes Jake well in his future endeavours. The team will make further comment on its 2023 driver line up in due course.”

Reigning Dunlop Super2 Series champion Declan Fraser shapes as the favourite to replace Kostecki at Tickford Racing in 2023, after impressing in Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Bathurst wildcard entry with eighth place alongside Craig Lowndes in 2022.

Cameron Waters, James Courtney and Thomas Randle will remain with Tickford Racing in 2023.
