Supercars heavyweights speak out

PARKED UP PLUS podcast has rare audio interviews with power pair.

30 May 2023

Voices have been put to the names of two of Supercars’ most powerful figures who are rarely heard in public.

Although not reclusive, Supercars big boss Barclay Nettlefold and Dick Johnson Racing owner Brett Ralph are elusive when it comes to broadcast interviews.

The latest PARKED UP PLUS podcast ends their vocal anonymity, with the behind-the-scenes heavy hitters talking to show host Mark Fogarty.

Nettlefold, chairman and major shareholder of Supercars, opens up about the sport’s future, while Ralph, who took control of DJR at the start of the year, commits to making the struggling Ford team great again. Listen here:

Nettlefold and Ralph are regulars at Supercars events, but while visible to insiders in the paddock, they don’t often interact with the media and almost never give interviews for broadcast.

It’s rare for fans to hear them speak, though, and Foges broke through the barriers to record revealing audio interviews.

Nettlefold and Ralph have been quoted in print, but now you can get extra context from listening to their comments.

PARKED UP PLUS also hears from Supercars triple champ turned IndyCar star Scott McLaughlin on the Gen3 parity debate and why a Bathurst 1000 pair-up with former arch-rival Shane van Gisbergen won’t happen despite their Chevrolet links.

As well, there’s expert Aussie insights into the controversial finish of the Indianapolis 500 and this weekend’s return of the Detroit IndyCar Grand Prix to the streets of downtown Motor City.

All this and more in PARKED UP PLUS, the place of pace for motor racing news every week.
