Stanaway joins BRT for enduros

Richie Stanaway will join Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) as a co-driver for the 2026 Supercars Championship endurance events, partnering James Golding.

The move strengthens BRT’s enduro line-up with proven race-winning experience, highlighted by Stanaway’s Bathurst 1000 victory in 2023. The New Zealander will share driving duties with Golding across the traditional endurance rounds as the team continues to build toward a more competitive 2026 campaign.

Stanaway said the opportunity to join BRT felt like a natural fit, particularly given his existing relationship with Golding. Having competed as teammates previously, the pair already share an understanding of each other’s driving styles and technical preferences.

Golding welcomed the announcement, describing Stanaway’s arrival as a significant step forward for the squad. He said their prior experience working together, albeit usually in separate cars, would help accelerate their preparation for the long-distance events.

Team principal and co-owner Tim Blanchard said Stanaway’s endurance pedigree and Bathurst success would provide a major boost as BRT looks to push further up the order. He also highlighted the value of pairing drivers who already know how to work together, giving the team confidence it can hit the ground running.

The announcement continues BRT’s steady progress in strengthening its driver roster, with endurance results viewed as a key pillar of the team’s broader performance objectives. With a potential Bathurst-winning combination now locked in, the focus will turn to maximising preparation ahead of the 2026 endurance campaign.
