PremiAir Racing parts ways with Jacobson

Garry Jacobson departs PremiAir Racing with a replacement driver yet to be announced.

21 June 2022

PremiAir Racing has announced it has parted ways with Garry Jacobson with immediate effect.

Jacobson leaves the team after an incident-filled Merlin Darwin Triple Crown, where he scored a best race result of 18th place, sitting in 24th in the championship standings.

“PremiAir Racing wishes to confirm that effective immediately Garry Jacobson and PremiAir Racing have parted ways,” said the team in a statement.

“Jacobson’s contract has been officially ended this afternoon (21 June 2022) and PremiAir Racing is exploring its options regarding a replacement driver for the #76 Subway PremiAir Racing Supercar.

“Announcements regarding the new driver for the #76 will be made at the earliest possible opportunity. PremiAir Racing will be making no further comment regarding Garry’s departure and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”

Jacobson stayed with PremiAir Racing, where he was joined by Chris Pither, following a change of ownership from Team Sydney at the start of 2022.
