The Penrite-backed Ford Mustangs of Grove Racing will feature a special one-off livery for this weekend’s Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
Naming rights partner and event sponsor Penrite Oil has announced a partnership with Allan Moffat, a Dementia Australia patron, for the upcoming Penrite Oil Sandown 500.
The partnership is aimed at raising awareness and community support for patients and their families affected by dementia, whilst recognising Moffat’s long and successful racing career including his exceptional contribution to Australian motorsport.
The livery is based on Moffat’s 1979 XC Federation Falcon featuring bold red, orange and yellow as well as the original Penrite Oil logo on both sides and bonnet of the Mustangs.
David Reynolds is joined by five-time Bathurst champion and Sandown 500 winner Garth Tander, while Matt Payne will team up with Porsche factory driver Kevin Estre.
“It is a great initiative that Penrite have undertaken to bring this livery to life in partnership with Allan Moffat and Dementia Australia,” said team principal David Cauchi.
“This is a fantastic way to create awareness for Dementia Australia as well as mark the return of the Sandown 500 event. We are excited to see the cars on track with our four endurance drivers behind the wheel and look forward to doing Penrite, Dementia Australia and Allan Moffat proud.”
