Super3 team Anderson Motorsport will field an ex-Dick Johnson Racing Ford Mustang as a wildcard entry in the 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000.
Anderson Motorsport team owner Michael Anderson has purchased the car to run in Super2 in 2023, when Mustangs and ZB Commodores become eligible to race in the second-tier category.
The Mustang was Fabian Coulthard’s car during the 2020 season, with Anderson Motorsport set to receive some technical support from Dick Johnson Racing for its Bathurst entry.
It’s the second confirmed wildcard entry for Bathurst, alongside Erebus Motorsport’s Boost Mobile-backed ZB Commodore for Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway.
Triple Eight Race Engineering is expected to run another Supercheap Auto-backed wildcard entry, which will take the grid to 28 cars.
