Brodie Kostecki wins all three race at The Bend Motorsport Park, extending his championship lead.

Erebus Motorsport’s Brodie Kostecki has extended his championship lead with a round sweep at the OTR SuperSprint at The Bend Motorsport Park.

Kostecki won all three races across the event, a week after his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His championship lead now sits at 137 points, up from the 41-point lead he had entering The Bend Motorsport Park.

Kostecki’s teammate Will Brown endured a torrid round, getting caught up in a first-corner multi-car crash in the first race of the weekend that forced him into retirement. A spin in the final race saw him lose even more ground in the championship race.

Ford runners had their most consistent round of the season with a first pole position and solo podium for Tickford Racing’s Thomas Randle, while fellow Mustang runners Chaz Mostert and Cameron Waters also scored podiums.

Triple Eight Race Engineering duo Shane van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney climbed into second and third in the championship respectively, jumping ahead of Brown. However, the Red Bull entries were off the podium with Feeney losing positions and points after being punted off the track by David Reynolds in the third race.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship now moves into endurance mode with the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 next up on September 15 to 17.
