Holden hero Garth Tander’s shock switch to Ford next year could have an unexpected consequence.
Tander is giving up his Bathurst-winning partnership with Shane van Gisbergen at Triple Eight to join upstart squad Grove Racing for the endurance races.
His move opens the way for a surprise superstar replacement to partner SVG in the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000.
As well as hearing directly from Tander on his big change, the latest PARKED UP PLUS podcast speculates that Triple Eight has targeted Scott McLaughlin.
Listen here:
The former DJR Team Penske Ford star is a Chevrolet driver in IndyCar, so guest co-driving in a Triple Eight Chev Camaro wouldn’t be a manufacturer clash.
Pairing him with van Gisbergen is an intriguing prospect, but McLaughlin’s availability would be subject to his American commitments.
Also on PARKED UP PLUS, Stephen Grove outlines his ambitious aim for Penrite Racing, which snapped at the heels of the top teams this season.
And ex-AFL coach David Noble explains how he ‘bounced’ into Supercars as the new CEO of Dick Johnson Racing.
All this and more is in the latest PARKED UP PLUS podcast.
