Kai Allen locks in long-term Grove Racing future
Rookie of the Year commits long-term to Penrite Racing, as Bathurst winner Will Davison joins the team for 2026
Kai Allen has committed his future to Grove Racing, signing a new long-term deal that will see the reigning Repco Supercars Championship Rookie of the Year remain with the team through to the end of the 2030 season.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a standout first season in Supercars, quickly establishing himself as one of the category’s brightest emerging talents. Driving the #26 Penrite Racing entry, Allen combined outright pace with measured race craft and composure beyond his years across the 2025 campaign.
Allen’s rookie season was highlighted by becoming the youngest driver to qualify for the Supercars Championship Grand Final, while five podium finishes helped secure fourth place in the Drivers’ Championship. His consistent results, alongside teammate Matt Payne, also played a key role in Penrite Racing finishing second in the Teams’ Championship.
Reflecting on the extension, Allen said he was grateful for the opportunity and backing he has received since joining the Grove Racing organisation.
“My first season in Supercars was a dream and I am thrilled to be extending my partnership with Grove Racing until 2030,” Allen said.
“I can’t thank Stephen and Brenton enough for the opportunity and trust that they have instilled in me over the past year.
“The belief, the people and the direction that we are headed in gives me a lot of confidence. I feel like we are building something really special and I can’t wait to keep growing together.”
Allen also acknowledged the support of Penrite Racing fans, describing their backing as a major source of motivation heading into the new season.
In 2026, Allen will be paired with race engineer Riccardo Corte, who joins Grove Racing following 11 years at Ferrari, where he served in multiple roles including Lewis Hamilton’s performance engineer.
Grove Racing has also confirmed the addition of experienced campaigner Will Davison as a co-driver for Penrite Racing in 2026, completing the team’s endurance line-up following the recent signing of Tim Slade.
A two-time Bathurst 1000 winner, Davison said he was looking forward to joining a team he has admired from afar and working alongside Allen and Payne as Grove Racing continues its upward trajectory.
