Holdsworth joins Fiore for Bathurst assault
Former 1000 winner and regular Supercars co-driver will share a record breaking Audi at the 12-Hour
Lee Holdsworth and Dean Fiore will team up with GT ace Marc Cini in the Hallmarc Racing Audi R8 LMS at next month’s Bathurst 12-Hour. The trio will return in the traditional red and black-liveried machine to continue their record as the longest-serving driving partnership in the race’s history.
The car will again be fielded by Melbourne-based Melbourne Performance Centre / Audi Customer Sport Racing Australia.
Cini will start his 13th Bathurst 12 Hour this year, a record of any driver in race history, while 2025 will mark the eighth time the same trio have competed together, also an event record.
They placed 13th outright and 4th in the Bausele Pro-Am class in 2024 – an identical result to the one achieved the year prior – however a 6th outright result achieved in the 2022 race stands as their best finish overall as a trio.
Cini’s personal 12-Hour record stretches back to the first GT edition of the race in 2011, the Melbournian having started all bar one race (2012) since then, having achieved five top-10 finishes outright and stood on the Pro-Am class podium on three occasions – all three with Holdsworth and Fiore.
Cini continues to be busy behind the wheel, tackling both GT World Challenge Australia and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championships in 2024.
Former Repco Bathurst 1000 winner Holdsworth made his 12-Hour debut in 2013 before returning with Cini’s team for the 2017 race.
After years of trying, Holdsworth paired with Chaz Mostert to win the Bathurst 1000 in 2021 and has finished in the top 10 in the last six consecutive editions of the Supercars Championship’s biggest race.
Fiore’s Bathurst 12 Hour debut came in 2011 with Cini in a Porsche GT3 Cup S, before the former Supercars regular and current Bathurst 1000 co-driver returned in 2014 driving an Audi.
Like Holdsworth, he then returned to Cini’s team three years later to commence their as yet unbroken partnership.
They are the first Audi combination locked in for the 2025 race as the brand looks to continue it’s remarkable Bathurst track record, one that includes three outright victories (2011, ‘12 and ‘18), 6 podium finishes and a record 29 top-10 finishes.
