Holden’s final roar

PARKED UP PLUS podcast hears from a Holden heavyweight on the eve of the Lion’s Supercars send-off.

28 November 2022

Holden’s final farewell at this weekend’s VALO Adelaide 500 will be a sad occasion for generations of fans.
For more than 50 years, Holdens have raced and won at the top levels of Australian touring car competition – from Series Production to Supercars.
One person steeped in the history of the Lion brand is former Holden Racing Team boss John Crennan, in charge of the factory squad during its domination from 1996-2002.
In the latest PARKED UP PLUS podcast, Crennan speaks out about the rise and demise of Holden in racing.
Listen here:

‘Crenno’ is about to publish a book revealing all about his decades-long career with Holden and then Holden Special Vehicles and Holden Racing Team.
He also masterminded Kmart Racing’s 2003/04 Bathurst 1000 wins and the HSV Dealer Team’s championship successes in 2006-07.
Holden will be celebrated at the Adelaide 500, which is starting a new era after being revived following the change of government in this year’s South Australian election.

SupercarXtra editor Adrian Musolino updates PARKED UP PLUS on preparations and the atmosphere around town on the eve of the popular street race event’s return.
There’s also news of the latest third-generation driver planning to take the first step towards a career in Supercars.
It’s all in the big pre-Adelaide 500 edition of PARKED UP PLUS.
