Erebus backing Kostecki’s NASCAR bid

PARKED UP PLUS podcast reveals big plan for fast-rising Supercars star, Brodie Kostecki.

16 May 2023

Supercars championship leader Brodie Kostecki is being encouraged to race in NASCAR by his Erebus Motorsport team.

Erebus is helping Kostecki get a NASCAR test for a possible future appearance in the American series’ road course or street race events.

The latest PARKED UP PLUS podcast reveals his options, amid rumours of another Supercars team making a big bid for him. Listen here:

Kostecki is contracted to Erebus Motorsport in Supercars until the end of next year. In the meantime, Erebus is trying to help him get a foothold in NASCAR’s top-level Cup series in road course or street races that don’t clash with Supercars events.

PARKED UP PLUS also outlines S5000 champion Joey Mawson’s political battle to get Supercars approval for an endurance race co-drive.

As well, there’s news on plans to develop more sustainable tyres for Supercars as soon as next year.

A high-powered Supercars delegation visited Taupo International Motorsport Park late last week, checking out the track as the possible venue for the sport’s return to New Zealand in 2024.

Circuit owner Tony Quinn tells PARKED UP PLUS why Taupo is the “logical” replacement for Pukekohe – and also why his Queensland Raceway deserves to be back on the Supercars calendar.

All this and more in the latest episode of Australia’s news-leading motorsport podcast, hosted by the voice of authority, Mark Fogarty.
