D’Alberto, Davison back for Bathurst

Tony D’Alberto and Alex Davison locked in for Bathurst with Dick Johnson Racing.

13 May 2022

Dick Johnson Racing will field an unchanged line-up at the Repco Bathurst 1000 with confirmation of the return of Tony D’Alberto and Alex Davison as its endurance co-drivers in 2022.

D’Alberto continues his co-driving duties for the seventh consecutive season with the team alongside Anton De Pasquale, while Davison returns for his second season with the team and will pair up with brother Will Davison for their sixth Bathurst 1000 campaign together.

“To have Tony and Alex co-driving with us again in the Great Race, the Repco Bathurst 1000, is exciting for the Shell V-Power Racing Team after their excellent results in 2021, with a just missed podium,” says the team’s executive chairman and co-owner, Ryan Story.

“Both were among the fastest co-drivers during the race last year and I know we’ll see that pace again this year. They are great members of our team and really do fit in well with not only all of our staff, but also with our partners, and embraced by all our wonderful and passionate supporters.”

Confirmation of their return appears to rule out Scott McLaughlin for Bathurst, with the team’s former championship-winning driver scheduled to co-drive in 2021 before being ruled out due to travel restrictions.
