Buckley confirms Super2 entry

Eighteen-year-old Alice Buckley will compete in the 2026 Super2 Series driving an ex-Triple Eight Holden Commodore ZB, prepared and run by her own family team, with support from Super2 Series champions Matt Stone Racing (MSR).

Buckley revealed her Super2 Holden that she will race in the six-round championship this year at a special launch in Brisbane, with the car sporting high-profile partners Castrol, Autobarn, GM Special Vehicles, AC Delco, Shannons Insurance, Bendworx, IVE Group and Llewellyn GMSV.

Her move into Super2 is another step forward in her drive to be the next female racer to compete in the Supercars Championship. The Queenslander burst to prominence last year, winning the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series and claiming victory on debut in the competitive TA2 Muscle Car Series.

In December last year, Buckley received an opportunity to complete her first laps in a Supercar with Matt Stone Racing where a deal was struck to secure the Commodore and receive assistance from MSR to compete against the next crop of Supercars stars.

Super2 is renowned as the breeding ground for future Supercars champions with the likes of Mark Winterbottom, Scott McLaughlin, Cameron Waters, Thomas Randle and Broc Feeney all past champions of the class.

Buckley has also confirmed that she will keep herself match fit during the year, contesting the six-round TA2 Muscle Car Series in the same Chevrolet Camaro that she took to victory last year.

Buckley’s motorsport journey started in karting before turning her attention to circuit racing, where she competed in one-make racing categories like Hyundai Excels and the TGRA GR Cup.

She won the 2025 Toyota Scholarship Series, contested select events in Toyota’s ultra-competitive TGRA GR Cup before turning her attention to the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

Buckley won two races in her maiden TA2 appearance at Queensland Raceway last July, and followed that with more success in the two-driver event at the same circuit, partnered by mentor and former Supercars race winner Tim Slade.

The opening round of the Dunlop Super2 Series will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 20-22.

“I’m so excited to be racing the Holden Commodore in the Dunlop Super2 series this year. I’m most excited about it being the feeder category for Supercars, and that’s where I want to go,” Buckley said.

“We’ve decided to make the jump this year to a really exciting program. Obviously, my goals for going to Super2 are that I want to get rookie of the year, and if I can get in the top ten, I will be absolutely stoked.

“Being a driver has always been a dream since I was a little kid racing for James Courtney, so it’s been an absolute dream to get into Super2. Everyone’s been very supportive of not only having a young female, but a young female driver that is getting some good results at the moment. So I’ve been very fortunate to have the sport being very accepting and pushing for me.

“I’ve been so grateful over my racing career to have some amazing partners such as Castrol and Bendworkx, who have been with me since day one, and then over the last few years, having groups like GMSV, AC Delco, Shannons, Autobarn, IVE Group and the Llewellyn’s join us.”

Matt Stone said he was privileged to assist such a talented young racer.
