
Will Brown claimed victory in two of three races at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint at Symmons Plains Raceway, moving into second place in the championship and closing in on teammate Brodie Kostecki.
Brown scored the win in the first race of the weekend, while Kostecki was involved in an early-race melee to lose significant points along with fellow championship contenders Chaz Mostert and Broc Feeney.
Andre Heimgartner took his best result of the season in second place, in his 100th round, while van Gisbergen scored valuable points in third place.
Brown had to settle for third place behind Kostecki and winner Broc Feeney in the second race, while van Gisbergen was an early casualty after tangling with David Reynolds.
Brown returned to the top step of the podium in the third race, ahead of Feeney and Kostecki with van Gisbergen in fourth.
With five straight podium finishes, three of them being wins, Brown now sits second in the championship, 87 points behind Kostecki.
Mostert is the leading Ford contender in third place in the standings, behind the Erebus Motorsport duo, with van Gisbergen dropping to fourth ahead of Feeney.
