Boost boss still wants Murphy and Stanaway for Bathurst

Mark Fogarty on the Parked Up Plus podcast details the bid to revive the Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway wildcard entry for Bathurst.

28 April 2022

Greg Murphy might still get his chance to race in one more Repco Bathurst 1000.

The four-time winner of the Great Race was set to make a comeback after five-yeas out of the race, until his old friend and Boost Mobile boss Peter Adderton concocted a wildcard entry with Erebus Motorsport for last year’s race.

Pandemics and tough New Zealand border measures prevented Murphy and fellow Kiwi Richie Stanaway from competing in the third Erebus entry, but Adderton remains keen to make it happen in 2022.

Revealed in the latest episode of Parked Up Plus with Mark Fogarty, Adderton said that an announcement is due soon.

“It’s a thing the fans want, and I’m confident we’ll be able to make some announcements soon,” said Adderton.

“I would be very disappointed if we don’t see Greg and Richie on the grid this year.“

Also in Parked Up Plus this week, Fogarty previews the Perth Supercars return this weekend, including detailed chats with Nick Percat and Will Brown. He speaks to Tony Quinn about how Triple Eight boss Jamie Whincup is handling his role as team boss.
