Following the success of the Road to Bathurst podcast, a new series launches next week.

The same team will present Race for the Championship, with five episodes following the battle for the Supercars drivers’ championship.

Road To Bathurst, powered by VACC Automotive Apprenticeships, immediately roared up the rankings of motor sport podcasts in Australia and New Zealand.

Anchored by renowned racing journalist Mark Fogarty and produced by media entrepreneur Neville Wilkinson, RTB was a hit with its unique mix of hard news and in-depth interviews.

The pre-Bathurst 1000 show featuring Mark Larkham and Peter Adderton attracted a huge audience.

Popular from the first episode, another big drawcard was Greg Murphy’s 21st anniversary look back at his legendary ‘Lap of the Gods’.

Again backed by VACC Automotive Apprenticeships and SupercarXtra magazine, Race for the Championship will follow the title fight through the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and Vailo Adelaide 500.

Will Brown is in control, leading Triple Eight teammate Broc Feeney by 204 points.

Ford flyers Chaz Mostert and Cam Waters are next and still in contention.

With 600 points available, it could all turn on the perilous streets of Surfers Paradise and Adelaide, where big drama is only a small mistake away.

Ahead of an exciting title finish, and following RTB’s success, VACC was keen to extend the promotion of its automotive apprenticeship scheme’s links with Supercars racing.

Producer Neville Wilkinson thanked VACC Automotive Apprenticeships for supporting the program until the end of Championship.

“It shows the level of excitement that comes with Supercars, and helps highlight the greater automotive sector and its continued relevancy to the sport.”

Neville praised the fans for supporting the program.

Race for the Championship will start on Monday afternoon with a special guest interview that Supercars fans won’t want to miss.
